Terry J. Clark II

Terry J. Clark II is a visual artist who lives in Concord Township Ohio. A native to northeast Ohio, he attended the Cleveland Institute of Art. It is there, Terry majored in Painting and earned the BFA in 2002. After graduation, the journey and inquiry of painting continued at Kent State University. Terry graduated two years later in 2004 with the MFA. He attributes a successful academic and studio practice from the investment of education. "The many supportive advisors and mentors at both institutions prepared me extremely well for my professional pursuits". Terry's artworks have always been inspired by color, light, natural sciences and the landscape. These main topics of inspiration generated a new awareness and interest in climate change and plastic pollution. "My love for the traditional landscape as a subject matter has nurtured an interest in the the cycle of plastic creation, consumer usage, discard, and unyielding pollution of our planet". Terry says "evidence of micro plastic pollutions are found everywhere, especially in oceans, rivers, and lakes". My current body of artworks aim to challenge or to encourage a viewer to contemplate the relentless temporary need and importance of consumer product packaging made from plastics.
